Dr. Stephen Lloyd-Moffett is an internationally known Religious Studies scholar and Professor of Religious Studies at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo. He is a popular speaker and the author of three books and dozens of articles and essays.  You can find out more about his academic career here. His first wine vintage was a half-ton of Cabernet in 2006 and has explored a dozen varietals since.  During a sabbatical in 2012, he assisted at Noon Winery in McLaren Vale in South Australia and eventually conducted 100 interviews with winemakers for these books.  In 2015, he planted a small vineyard of Grenache & Syrah on a steep slope in Arroyo Grande, California, from which he regularly makes wine. He also has a foothold in the Eola-Amity wine region of the Willamette Valley in Oregon. In recent years, he has explored more European wines, especially the burgeoning Danish wine scene. Over the years, he has spoken to dozens of groups about the spirituality of wine and winemaking.
